In other words, this is a representation of TOM FRIEDMAN’S PERFECTLY GLOBALIZED FLAT EARTH.
And, yes, when it works, it works. At least for those who are stakeholders and/or affluent (enough) consumers.
But then, this is not the WORLD IN THE ROUND, where there is also ideology; nationalism; racism; inherent economic advantage; commercial abuses and inequities; and downright, old-fashioned malevolence.
But the world this flow chart illustrates DOES ACCOUNT FOR why it’s becoming increasingly difficult for nation-states to GO TO WAR.
If in a digital world, we ALL NEED EACH OTHER, how can we fragment ourselves back into venomous, feuding tribes?
It’s clear we can — and will — if and when WE DON’T HAVE A CHOICE, which will depend on how we manage the ENERGY ISSUE, the linchpin to all of this, yet the one the MSM ALMOST NEVER TALKS ABOUT.
Too bad it’s as important as breathing.
