Safe Cities Index

In case we ever start traveling abroad again . . .

“The Economist Intelligence Unit has published its 2021 Safe Cities Index, ranking 60 major global cities across 76 indicators based on digital, health, infrastructure, environmental and personal security.”

Safest city?  Copenhagen.

As for American cities on the safest top 20 list, New York ranks 12th; DC, 14th; San Francisco, 16th; L.A., 18th and — SURPRISE, SURPRISE — Chicago, 20th. I guess a lot of people DON’T GET MURDERED THERE every weekend.

Here are the cities to stay away from:

Among these, I’ve been to Mexico City, Johannesburg, Casablanca and Caracas and found LITTLE TO LIKE in any of them, save THE GREAT MOSQUE at the edge of the Atlantic in Casablanca.

But check out The Economist’s entire 2021 Safe City Index. It’s a gas.
